Friday Q&A

Questionable Appropriation

Greetings, crickets and trolls. Welcome to another edition of the Friday Q&A. As you may recall, my last post hinted that some major projects were in development here at the Clinic. This week, I'm pleased to report that one has been completed way ahead of schedule. Let's take some questions about this exciting new feature. I'm dripping with enthusiasm, and another substance which has yet to be determined.

Q: What have you been working on?

A: As you all know, the Fark Photoshop community lost a respected member when Grampy left us last year. Faced with the threat of legal action, he was forced to take the venerable Cliché City website offline. This valuable resource has been sorely missed. That's why it's a pleasure to announce I've recreated Cliché City in most of it's original glory. Thanks to the Wayback Machine and a few free image hosts, this valuable reference is once again available for you to peruse.

Q: Why did you reconstruct Cliché City?

A:
A lack of good-quality, unaltered cliché sources was my primary reason for recreating Grampy's site. Did you know it's virtually impossible to find a copy of HA HA guy with the original text? I had to go rooting around in the Clinic's archives for one of my old Tutorials. In a few years, obtaining these images may be tougher than finding an anthropomorphic cat picture that hasn't been captioned with pidgin English.

Q: Why did you leave Grampy's name on the site?

A:
I didn't have the heart to change it.
Cliché City still belongs to Grampy, even if it's temporarily being hosted by me. When he chooses to reinstate his domain, I'll be happy to take this impostor version offline to avoid any confusion. In the meantime, I hope you can make use of it as a reference tool. Cliché City is a part of our community's historical record, and deserves to be available regardless of one member's participation.

That's all for this time gentle reader. In the next few days, you can expect any gaps and glitches in the new Cliché City to be fixed. Resurrecting that site was a labor of love, and I have no problem with serving as curator until Grampy returns.

Stay tuned for more well-intentioned theft from the Doctor!
