Friday Q&A

Questionable Classification

Greetings, crickets and trolls. Welcome to another edition of the Friday Q&A. In this regular feature, I answer questions that are occasionally relevant to the Fark Photoshop community. I hope everyone had a great week. Unless you disagree with me, in which case I hope you drop dead of syphilis in a Venezuelan gulag.

Q: Is the queue still awesome?

A: Surprisingly, yes. I was afraid last week's praise of the Fark administrators would bring this renaissance to a grinding halt. Fortunately, the powers that be continue to see the benefit of not randomly greenlighting links to the Photoshop queue. The current list of upcoming contests is a good mix of themes and high-quality images. Kudos to everyone involved in the submission and approval process.

Q: Why do people like themes?

A:
Theme contests are some of the most popular on Fark. These freestyle image mangling threads frequently bring out the best talent we have to offer. They also tend to draw more voters.
Since Liters have access to the upcoming themes, it's not unusual to see well-planned entries from them as well.

Q: Why don't we have a theme-only queue?

A: That might seem like a good idea on the surface, but some Photoshoppers prefer to work from an original image. Theme contests also require more moderator attention, to clean up the inevitable crop of hotlinks and GISes. As previously stated, building a good queue requires the inclusion of themes and images. We all need a little variety. Steak is delicious, but would you have it for dinner every night? Of course not. Every now and then you want a hamburger.
cows are delicious.
That's all for this time, gentle reader. As usual, thanks for stopping by. Keep watching the Clinic for future updates and features. I want to close this post by once again thanking those responsible for the improved contest queue. Your recent submissions send a clear signal to the admins with regard to what the average Photoshopper wants.

Stay tuned for more overdue congratulations from the Doctor!
